A Delightful Step Back in Time

I made a pit stop into a Safeway store just north of downtown yesterday and was surprised to see a grocery store so small and quaint. The design was clearly vintage 1950s with only about 12 aisles about 30 feet long, a relatively low ceiling, a tiny bakery and produce section, and just 5 checkout register counters. I would have thought these size stores, particularly from a giant like Safeway, would be all gone, particularly in a small city like this. I would have to think this relic from the past's days are numbered as the massive superstores with 30 or more aisles;huge bakery, produce, meat, and frozen food sections with delis, floral departments, and pharmacies; ceilings that are 50' above the floor; and at least 15 check out lanes with some that are self serve have become the norm everywhere. This recent experience I had was very cool.

The Treachery and Evil of American Corporations

They are robbing citizens blind and then asking the taxpayers for handouts. They pay their officials and executives pornographic amounts of money. They contribute little to the benefit and well being of our society and the communities they do their dirty work in. And only the intelligent insightful citizens like yours truly is aware of this. Let the work of Ralph Nader and others continue and grow with great success...

And here is a publication that sheds even more light on this evil shadow that is so harmful to so many.
