After many years of futility, it would appear a new ballpark is in the works for the long beleagured Florida Marlins. Miami City Government approved funding for the new state of the art retractable roofed facility and it would all that remains is working out the fine print in setting terms for an agreement and plan. Hopefully this time it will become a reality. With the imminent success of the Marlins, only the Oakland Athletics have yet to finalize plans for their new building which is to be set in the SE Bay Area east of San Jose and south of Oakland. All other MLB clubs have secured a building in recent years, content with their older existing building (BSN, CHIC, LA), or moving towards playing in a new building also in the next few years (NYM, NYY, MINN, WASH, TB)
