Perseid Meteor Showers 2008

The annual Perseid Meteor Showers are underway with a peak on early Tuesday 12 August pre-dawn morning. One needs to be in a place with limited if any light pollution to fully observe the spectacle. The show is best off at start in the northeast direction where the constellation Perseus, rises above the horizon. The shower slowly moves more towards the east as time elapses before AM twilight commences. About one to two meteors per minute are anticipated at times. The position of the moon being below the horizon after 2am on Tuesday will make this the best times to observe. The Perseid Meteor shower is always among the best as the angle in which the meteors enter the atmosphere make it most favorable for observation as well as the potential for some spectacular sights.
