Bo Diddley was an extraordinary musician and one of the founders of the sound which would become one of the most significant artistic and cultural movements in the history of mankind, rock and roll music. Diddley was a superb guitar player and his performances were often incomparable and incredible. He had a revolutionary style of playing guitar, and Diddley's influences on other musicians spanned decades and included many of the most recognizeable names in all types of music, including those in other genres like country. Diddley was there in 1955 for the beginning of rock and roll and was the first rock/blues musician to have women as part of his band. Diddley appeared in a 1981 George Thorogood video for the song, "Bad to the Bone", which was a remake of Diddley's own song, "I'm A Man". Diddley had 38 albums published, but many music fans and listeners were not as aware of his noteworthiness and contributions to music as they were of other musicians. This is indeed truly unfortunate and unjust. Diddley also had small roles in some films Dan Ackroyd was in, including the 1983 film, Trading Places. Hopefully a film celebrating Diddley's life will be forthcoming soon that rivals the production we saw in the biofilm of Ray Charles a few years back.-
