A Sweet Sweep With a Tremendous Ending

As Summer fades into Autumn, the remaining days of the baseball season slip away like sand grains in an hourglass. The Colorado Rockies are probably going to end like one of those grains of sand, but they are fighting until the end and providing some great play and entertainment along the way. Tuesday 18 September was a striking example of just that. Sweeping a day-night doubleheader against their bitter rivals and fellow postseason berth challengers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are moments for fans and followers to remember and treasure after so many seasons of having no meaningful games in September. Save 1995, and this is the only other pennant race this club has ever been in. Having the nightcap end in such a dramatic fashion with a walkoff home run by the franchise's stalwart, Todd Helton, was truly a stirring moment and one for the ages for fans like me.
