2009 is in its early days, so its a good time to look back at some of the good memories of 2008. Overall 2008 was a positive year personally, with much fewer negatives and hardships compared to recent years.1) The ability to visit and spend time with family. I was able to see two of my three sisters and their families while they visited in Denver or in Albuquerque over Thanksgiving. I visited with my youngest brother and his family on a number of occasions and spent better than two weeks of the year at their home. I talked on the phone on a number of lengthy occasions with the oldest of my sisters, as well as with my other sisters and brother.
2) My employment was overall good for the year. I did have some lean times in the second quarter of the year, and I did go into a layoff the second half of December; but overall it was my best working years since 2002.
3) I got to attend some sporting events in Denver -- about 3-4 Rockies' games and a Broncos' game.
4) I was able to save some money and make a significant step towards relocating back to Colorado in 2009, hopefully in the second quarter; and likely to Colorado Springs, although the timetable and destination have not been completely finalized at this point.
5) My work at the windows factory was physically demanding and resulted in some chronic injuries and pain usually, but I did get into better shape and lost about 15 -20 pounds while employed there. My health throughout the year as I moved into the 51st year of existence was overall more than satisfactory by quite a bit.
6) I made progress towards being the best I have been organized concerning my personal possessions in many years, and I believe I can near the optimum before I do relocate in the coming months.
7) I purchased about 8 -10 CDs during the year that were very satisfying.
8) My electronics all continued to work good through the year, as did The White Knight.
9) My friendships with Todd, Brant, and Matt were very fulfilling as we got to share in some good times together through the year.
10) I got to enjoy many good sporting events, films, and other programs on radio and television throughout the year as well as some good books, periodicals, newspapers, and internet content.
