Personal Downward Collapse Hastens

It is now been about six months since I last had work, and what reserves I had to last out my unemployment have now been exhausted. As each week goes by I get in deeper straits, and the likelihood of becoming homeless again is more than a real possibility. If I don't get work within the next two weeks or so, I will be compelled to give up my home and go back to sleeping in my truck as was the case for nine months in 2004-2005.

Already I am behind on utilities as I lacked funds to pay electricity, internet, cable, and cellular in May, and the new bills are about to arrive. Generally once one gets two months behind these services are terminated. I expect that to start to occur by mid month. And now my rent is past due as I am unable to pay my June rent of $430. At this point I am about $800 in the hole including utilities.

Food is not yet an issue as I have about ten days worth of supplies still on hand and about $35 in cash to do a minimal replenishment. But that will only buy about three weeks worth more of food.

My plan is to continue to seek employment, but results so far have been beyond dismal. Of all the inquiries I have made, only a couple of them have had any feedback, and they were offering only 10 hours per week which would only bring in about $70 per week, a pittance.

If I continue to experience failure or, more accurately, indifference, I will borrow money to rent storage space and a U-haul to empty out my unit before the end of July and return to life on the streets.

And if life continues on the streets for more than a few months, then I will be checking out rather than endure a Wyoming winter outdoors. Better to choose to end things on one's own terms than slowly but surely freeze and starve to death. The grim truth is the inevitable reality if things don't turn in time.
