Super Bowl 42 (XLII) kicks off around 4:20pm MST on Sunday 3 February from Phoenix-Glendale, AZ. The New England Patriots are playing to complete an undefeated season against the upstart New York Giants who almost did make the postseason except for a great second half in their fifteenth game against a beatup Bills club in Buffalo in the snow.I was injured when the Conference championship games were played but my unpublished picks would have been for the Patriots and Packers, so it is an upset and surprise that the Giants made it to the NFL title game this year in my view.
New England is favored by 11 1/2 points in Super Bowl XLII. It should be a close game for probably the first half, but the superior offensive firepower possessed by the Patriots will be a deciding factor, as well as playing in good weather with rested players against the Giants who have gone much farther than could have ever been anticipated but have reached their end of the road.

And then its goodbye to football for six months and hello to baseball in about two to three weeks !
