Larry Harmon was the individual who played the role of Bozo the Clown, a beloved childrens character for many for over 40 years. Others played the role in other markets as Harmon was the Bozo at WGN Chicago. Bozo was a fun happy character that was very positive and encouraging to young children and could be described as a role model. The playful innocence of Bozo is sadly missing for many children today as often children are exposed to harmful and dastardly characters like rap performers, athletes, wrestlers and death match brawlers, ultimate fighters, and video game characters to be role models for them. Although Harmon was not famous to many outside of his role, his contributions over the years are immeasureable. When I was a child, one of the toys we had was a Bozo the Clown Punching figure that stood about 4' in height, similar to the photo to the above right.7
