IRS to Clobber FedEx

Having been a victim of this same kind of manipulation and exploitation when I was a cabdriver from 2001-2004, I strongly agree with the premise of the fraudulent and criminal implementation of laws and policy that allow corporations to define employees as "self-employed independent contractors". Hopefully the huge amount of money that was defrauded from FedEx employees in just one year will result in a change of policy and actions by these greedy corrupt corporations. I figure that over a 41 months period I was probably defrauded out of over $125,000 by taxicab corporations in Denver. The only way I could ever dream of seeing that money would be to be part of a class action winning lawsuit.

Wolves are Here to Stay in the West

Oldtimers, the uneducated, and the greedy are crying and whining about the presence of wolves in the West and threatening all kinds of actions to eliminate them. But these kinds of folks are spitting in the wind. Wolves are back for good and their presence in this region are very good for these ecosystems flora and fauna. And they are helping to bring investment and economic development into a region contingent far too long on 19th century industries and mindsets.

2007 Thirteenth Hottest Year Ever for Albuquerque

2007 ended up 1.8 degrees F warmer than the historical average. Look for an average yearly temperature exceeding 60 degrees F in the next few years as global warming, increased sprawl, and the heat island effect play a greater role in the Albuquerque area's weather and climate.

2007 Seventh Hottest Year in Tucson

As Tucson sprawls and the heat island effect takes greater hold, hotter years are occuring increasingly for Tucson. In fact, there has only been one year in the last 24 in Tucson where temperatures were not above normal. Global warming is also contributing to Tucson moving even more so to a Phoenix-like climate.

2007 Hottest Year Ever for Las Vegas
