Earlier in March I wrote of my disappointment over the demise of my favorite radio station on the AM band which would all but end my ability to listen to KKFN The Fan after many years of regular and loyal listening. I sent an email to the Media and Journalism Critic for Westword sharing my feelings. Michael Roberts has also been a devoted AM 950 The Fan listener and is also disappointed with the move from the AM band to the FM side recently. He put my remarks into his blog on Westword earlier this week. As it turns out, Lincoln Financial (the corporate parent of KKFN) has decided at least temporarily to keep the simulcast ongoing so I am able to continue to listen over the AM band for now when I am using my headphone and transistor radios. I expect this not to continue for long as ESPN radio in Denver is likely to be moved to the 95o AM signal from its current extremely poor 1600 AM signal. In addition, the local station here in WY at 104.5 has bit the dust recently so interference with the 104.3 FM signal is less than anticipated now and I can pick up the station on the FM side as well while in my truck.
