After working for just four hours, I got off work at 2pm on a gloomy cold Monday. After reading my newspapers, I seemingly settled in for another quiet night at home spent surfing the 'net, working on my blogs, and watching the Coyotes/Stars game. But, lo and behold, Todd came by around 5:30 wanting me to accompany him to the theatre to watch a movie. He had just gotten back from ten days on a special assignment in Colorado Springs (he is in the WY ANG) and his home life is not getting any better and more peaceful at all. After checking the paper, we decided to go see
No Country For Old Men.
This is truly an outstanding film. The performances of the actors was exemplary with a great compelling well written story. Most of the movie was filmed in New Mexico ,and places in Albuquerque are easily identifiable despite the story taking place in Texas.
Tommy Lee Jones is deserving of serious Academy Awards consideration. The film is for adults as it is quite violent with numerous murders and lots of realistic blood. The story in the movie takes place in 1980 and I thought the film did a great job of capturing the life and culture of that time period. Be prepared for a rather onorthodox ending, though.
I hope to go see There Will Be Blood in the next week or so. That film has been highly acclaimed despite its lengthiness. It will have to sensational to be better than what I just witnessed in No Country For Old Men.

I have been fortunate to both personally see an albino antelope and an albino deer in the wild at some point in my adult lifetime, both times in Wyoming. When seeing creatures like this, you do a doubletake and are not quite sure you are actually seeing what you truly are. It would be particularly incredible to be able to see other albino creatures, such as a bison, wolf, elk, moose, or coyote. If any of my readers has been able to witness such incredibly rare creatures, please share your experiences with the other readers of this blog.
